Goyard Special Colors: Light Blue Jeanne Review & Grey Saint Martin Unboxing
/Let me start by saying that both these Goyard beauties are retired. I was lucky enough to get my hands on them thanks to the fantastic sales associates at Goyard Chicago. However, I think this review will be helpful if you're trying to decide between Goyard’s Special Colors grey and light sky blue for your next Goyard purchase, or if you're considering branching out beyond the Goyard totes; the brand's satchels and shoulder bags are gorgeous, as you'll see in the photos below. I'm including a few photos of the Jeanne and the Saint Martin together, followed by a review of the Jeanne, and an unboxing of the Saint Martin.
First up, the Goyard Jeanne GM in light sky blue with optional Bandouliere MM shoulder strap. For me, the Jeanne is the ultimate Goyard bag. My first encounter with Goyard took place on the streets of Chicago, when I caught a glimpse of a Saint Louis on the shoulder of a well healed woman. The Saint Louis sparked my interest, but after I saw the Jeanne, I was hooked.
The Jeanne is a wonderful travel bag. She fits beautifully on top of a roller board, as well as under the seat on United and American Airlines (I haven't taken her on any other airlines). My travel folio, wallet, passport holder, kindle, and makeup case fit neatly inside with room on top for a cardigan and scarf. The Jeanne retailed for $3005. The Bandouliere MM strap retails for $545 (February 2018), and is packaged in a lovely round Goyard box. I wear the adjustable Bandouliere MM strap with a 15 inch drop. The length is about 45 inches when buckled in the middle (with three holes below and above available for adjustment).
Goyard Saint Martin Unboxing
I decided on the Saint Martin because I wanted something smaller than a tote for casual events, but big enough to comfortably hold my makeup case, wallet, shades, and a scarf. This shoulder bag was a perfect fit. The Saint Martin was $2460 (June 2018).
I'm including a set of "unboxing" photos for the Saint Martin. She arrived in the Goyard dust bag, wrapped in paper, inside a Neiman Marcus box. (The Chicago Goyard store is located inside Neiman Marcus on Michigan Avenue.)
